A Space Reimagined
The customer had moved into the house around two years earlier but had never used the ensuite shower. Installed when the property was built nearly twenty years ago, the enclosure was very small and the room had started to feel dated.
Problem
Cramped and Awkward
The shower area was cramped and awkward to use, largely because a wall had been built out to accommodate a standard shower tray, reducing the usable space in the room. The customer wanted a bright, practical shower room they could use every day, with a proper shower, useful storage and a finish that would be easy to maintain.
Solution
Maximise Space
To maximise the available space, we removed the built-out wall that had been added for the original shower tray. This allowed the full width of the room to be used and created space for a much larger 1200 × 800 shower enclosure.
A sliding shower door replaced the previous bifold door, keeping the opening area clear while avoiding unnecessary hinges and moving parts. Because the home is served by a gas combi boiler, we were also able to install a twin rainfall shower, providing both a fixed rainfall head and a handheld option.
