Sometimes the source of a leak is not easy to find and repeated attempts at repair just add to the frustration. Thankfully we have not only fitted over 5000 new bathrooms, but also removed just as many – so we have seen all the issues that cause problems first hand.

Leaks don’t always show up where the problem starts.

It can start with staining on the ceiling below, damp patch, musty smell or areas that never seem to dry properly. It could even be water already coming through to the room below!

The cause is not always obvious. Water can travel behind tiles, under floors and through walls before it becomes visible. Common causes include failed sealant, lack of tanking (waterproofing) in wet areas. Movement of baths or shower trays, pipework or fittings.

These things don’t fix themselves and if left the problem can get worse as damp builds up, mould can develop and damage can occur to floors ceilings and surrounding areas!

We can confidently guarantee all our shower trays and over bath shower installations because everything is built around 2 key principles:

Elimination Movement

Shower trays and baths must be properly supported so they do not move. This includes when in use, filled with water or even with the natural expansion and contraction of wood joists and floors over time.Even small amounts of movement can cause sealing to fail no matter how well it has been applied.

Tanking

The wet area is completely waterproofed before any wall finishes are fitted.

Tiles and panels are purely decorative as are any silicone seals put on top, they are not relied on to prevent water getting through.

Home Design Visit

We come out, measure up and discuss what you’d like to do. We look at layout options so you get a clear idea of what’s possible and an idea of cost.

Step 3

Showroom Appointment

Make an appointment at our Glengormley showroom to go over the plan properly. Products and finishes are chosen before everything is agreed.

Step 4

Book an Installation Date

Once everything is agreed, a deposit confirms the project and secures your fitting date. We can then order the products and schedule the fitters.

Step 5

Installation

Our fitters carry out the full installation from start to finish. We deliver the products, complete the bathroom and remove all waste, leaving it ready to use.
